Backbrushing in the crown area, starts the first step of building this formal style. Hair is brought up and back into a "messy" French twist. A left to right diagonal part allows about half of the length to free fall. This hair is then vertically curled into large, loose twist curls which are left un-brushed and what gives this style asymmetry. Rather then disturbing the newly formed ringlets, the length is now shaken, not stirred.
