As January draws to a close, the early morning hours found George Clooney in Santa Monica, CA granting interviews. Coffee wasn’t the only thing energizing him this a.m. This smile stems from the announcement that his film, "Good Night and Good Luck", has just received three nominations for the Academy Awards. The motion picture has already won awards and had many nominations in the actor, writer and director categories. Since George is said director, screenplay writer, and performed the role of Fred Friendly in this film, he is probably still beaming from those already awarded as of this date.
She can exude the girl-next-door look. The "Legally Blonde" Reese Witherspoon has been given award after award this new year for her latest role in "Walk the Line" and has received another well deserved one at this latest event. This SAG honor was given for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role’ and I agree she was just that as June Carter. With the exception of this most recent ceremony, she has arrived with the same hair fashion, having all her golden hair brushed straight back and fastened in a simple updo. Plain, yet elegant. I won’t dispute that this lovely actress has looked radiant each time.
At the Screen Actors Guild Awards which aired this past Sunday evening, January 29th, 2006, she again had her hair brushed straight back with the slight variation that while the front was up in the same manner, the back was left down. This was then apparently curled, or ‘flipped up’ with an extra large curling iron barrel or rollers.
The most difference I have seen in her look has been when Reese went from her familiar platinum blonde to the dark brown that was June Carter. You may have also noticed that her color is not as bright and light a blonde since the brunette shade she had to wear.
Since we have all seen her in this same updo mentioned above even in previous years, it would appear Ms. Witherspoon may be locked into a ‘gimme the usual’ style for her formal affairs. No matter. Whatever color, style or girl-next-door character, when this rising star hits the red carpet, she shines beautifully!Read more
On Sunday evening, the Screen Actors Guild Awards aired and America learned that SAG presented Sean Hayes "Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor" for his role in the hit TV comedy "Will and Grace".
Madonna is seen here on the front

haute couture shows.
Notice she isn’t wearing her 70’s
reject hair that has been her "new" style
since the release of her album.
I guess she finally realized that no one
else was copying her.
Reese Witherspoon graces the stage for the People’s Choice Awards acknowledging some of her fans as she ascends to the podium to accept her award for favorite leading lady. Below she poses with her award at the Golden Globes where she won the best actress in a leading role. Both awards were for her portrayal of June Carter in "Walk the Line."
Make no mistake about it, Ms. Witherspoon is a very attractive, talented actress who deserves every award she has received. Her charm and beauty speak for themselves and perhaps that is why her stylist must feel she needs only to accentuate the lovely actress’ face. Notice the pattern that seems to be forming with her formal hairdo. Will there be an update to her hair fashion for the Screen Actors Guild, the Oscars or Academy Awards?Read more
Shown here is Marg Helgenberger from CSI as she arrived for the People’s Choice Awards. On the show, which was nominated for favorite TV drama, Marg’s job requires her to be flexible and on-call; definitely not a glamour position, though she pulls it off beautifully. I expect her hairstyle on the show to be simple and easy to maintain. This aesthetic redhead looks great all the time, yet I would have loved to have seen her hair more glamorously done in an updo with some waves or curls for a refreshing change. This is a formal occasion with more time for primping. We see this beautiful, sexy actress like this all the time. Well, maybe not in such a stunning dress!
