Curler sets will always be a good idea though the curlers themselves will change.   Nowadays we have velcro rollers that are quick and easy to use.   As always, use damp hair with a little styling gel, allow to dry thoroughly to avoid frizz, and voila’.  Finger comb or style into place as you prefer.  Maria Menounos has a look that will keep going with bouncy curls to endure the festivities as nothing lasts like a set done with curlers.

Short or Long

picture

Depending on your particular point of view, this gentleman has long hair or it is still considered to be in the "short" category.    Gender defines the norm for short to long lengths most of the time.  Yet long hair on a man has not always been considered unruly even by the older generation.   In certain time periods, this man’s hair would have been definitely considered short as it is naturally referred to today should this style be found on a woman.   What is intriguing by this guy’s style is the way it naturally wants to bend upwards a little on the ends.  A look that many women are going out of their way to achieve, this man’s hair does it without any attempts whatsoever.

Mother Knows Best

Jane Wyatt

picture

We lost an icon last Friday, October 20th, once thought of as the ideal ‘mom’ from the show "Father Knows Best" which aired decades ago.  This publicity photo of Jane Wyatt, is dated August 1957 and it proves that short, layered hairstyles do not change much over the span of time.   Ms. Wyatt has a curler set most likely as was the preferred method during this time frame.  Curling the hair this way would be more time consuming yet was less damaging to the hair and held better reconstructed hair shafts.  Loose curls with body as Jane has here, was easily achieved with larger rollers.  Brushing hair out was necessary to lose roller lines all the while utilizing the fingers to mold the curls into place.  We’ll miss you Jane, yet your hairstyle, despite minimal changes here and there, will live on with us.

Natural redheads have a particular skin coloring that is undeniable.  Fair skinned, along with sensitive eyes that range themselves in every color practically except brown, and the inability to produce melanin that results in sunburn not suntan.   These are classic telltale signs that prove you are a true red.

Bryce Dallas
obviously was born with this haircolor though it might not be this vibrant and rich naturally.  With a little fancy feathering around the face, some possible intensifying from color application, one cannot deny she is looking good.
