Default Excessive need for conditioners

Yes, it would be bad for the tangled, wet shampooed hair to get combed before you put the needed conditioner in. If you need conditioner all the time due to excess tangles, then you won't get a comb through your wet hair. Sometimes, it is necessary to comb the conditioner through to get the maximum effect from those conditioners.

However, I must say, if your hair tangles easily and badly and you have to depend on conditioning to comb your wet hair, to brush your dry hair (which I do hope this is how you deal with your hair) or to style it at all, then these are all warnings that you have hair damage.

Split ends begin the process of hair starting to tangle and become a problem. Getting them trimmed regularly takes care of this. However, some folks put these trims off for one reason or another, their hair starts to split up the hair shaft and the tangling is immense. The only solution is to cut hair even shorter.

I suggest you keep the ends trimmed as the splits won't go away no matter what you keep on them. If you don't, you will have more than ends to cut off.
