Hi Jules,
I hope you mean the H & S for Dry Scalp. I know that would have certainly been an understandable choice for your scalp's condition.
However, if you have been using dandruff shampoo, I'm not sure if your scalp will respond well to other shampoos or not. It has always been my understanding that once you start using a dandruff shampoo, you are stuck with it and cannot use anything but.
Sometimes our scalps are dry and tight due to quick shampooing and we don't take the time to massage them well to get the oil glands working. Brushing the hair taking care to massage the scalp with that brush is good too.
When your scalp starts seeming too dry and tight, it could be from the products you were using to shampoo, etc., with. Harsh shampoos can strip too much natural oil. Accompany this with not enough rinsing and you have a change in your scalp's condition.
One of the main reasons people start experiencing flaking and drying is lack of proper rinsing. This is why a lot of men ( who don't want to primp lol) get this problem. The other, as I said can be from harsh, stripping shampoos.
Should you find that you cannot use anything but a shampoo now for dry scalp or dandruff shampoo, do not despair. There are great conditioning products out there to help with your color. For example, someone in the forum had mentioned: Pantene Pro V Leave-in Treatment. It is great for colored hair to condition, protect it from the sun and protect the color from fading.
