Yes, starting with this style is great. And it gives your stylist the (pardon the pun) 'head's up' on how you want your style. Like this only longer and yes, textured as you go.
And you're right, it would grow right into that style. Good observation. You would have to go in after it got out of hand to have it cut just right.

I know it looks naturally messy and out of hand when it grows loads, but there's a limit between that's good and what's not. Too much over would be hideous!
So, do you recommend I wait a month or more until I go for this cut? My hair does grow very quickly, I have a double crown but my dresser thinned out my hair in my last cut so it should be ok this time. Yes so it'll probably be the same length or maybe a tad longer because I want it a little more messy/spikey/wild than in his first pics, not by much though!
