Hello Hazz!
Nice pics! all of them. I can see why you are tired of your current look tho. It's grown out from what used to be. I really like these new looks you've picked out. They are "random razor" cuts and what you will need is heat protection for your ends and some good hair gel. When hair is damp (so as to not water down the gel) apply a nickel size (adjust amount as needed according to hair density) dollop of gel into your hand, spread to all fingers of both hands and finger comb near the roots, then spread out towards ends. Next apply heat protectant onto ends.
(Dry hair while being bent over with hair hanging upside down OR prepare yourself to learn to work a vent brush while dryiing.) Either allow your hair to become just damp again, or start blow drying on high, concentrating dryer on scalp area all over for 45 seconds to one minute. This depends on how fast your hair dries. You want to get this part as dry as possible for VOLUME without overdrying the ends and this will s***d up the entire drying process. Hair should be just about damp again, so stand back upright and while vent brushing to the front side, turn dryer to low blow dry all the hair. Once dry, turn blow dryer to cool (if it has this setting) to really lock in the style.
The heat protectant will keep the blow dryer from drying out the ends and making them frizz. Applying a TINY bit of hair serum on the ends now will help control them, seal them and weigh them (ends only) down just a bit. The gel and blow drying give some lift that help last through your sets on stage. It may seem too puffy at first but will settle down quickly, thanks to gravity, hot stage lights (another reason for heat protectant and serum) and possible sweating.
Adjust the volume of fullness in blow drying as well as any products used as needed.
AS FOR YOUR HAIRCUT....take these pictures with you and please talk to your stylist about new ideas he/she has for styling and products. I really cannot see exactly what you need, etc. without checking your hair out in person, however, whomever does your hair will be able to better advise you.
Have fun and best of luck with your new style!
