Hi bolesregan
and bless your heart!

Curls can be quite a challenge. I trust you use conditioner right after shampooing. Shampooing alone can cause tangling. I recommend to folks to brush out all the hairspray and other products prior to wetting and using shampoo because these things make the tangles worse. And I realize that curls can be aggravating before during and after.

I'd say use a wide toothed "pick" to get through these curls when wet or dry. NEVER, ever brush wet or even damp hair. This causes breakage and more tangles. And no one wants breakage, even on straight hair!

A detangler sprayed on the hair during the time of towel drying is usually a good idea. Or you can use "leave-in" hair conditioner you spray on afterwards as well. Both of these close up the hair's cuticle and therefore seal those rough edges that causes the tangling. I am guessing when you say "sticking" you mean tangles.

For extreme tangles, work from the ends up to remove them. In your case probably with that pick. Never try to tackle them from the top of the head down. Work your way up from the bottom if they are bad. And using a good condtioner, leave in especially will help from shampoo to shampoo. Get the split ends cut often and you're better off having the longer length to relax any serious curls. If you ever want to go shorter, that's a whole new set of rules.
