Cowlicks are where hair is growing in the opposite direction out of the scalp then the rest of the hair, simply put. There isn't a way to make it behave short of working with it and not fighting against it. I mean if you want your hair to go left and it wants to go right, then you need to find a style you like where all your hair, in this case on the top; goes right. Or else you will drive yourself crazy fighting with it everyday.

I know it's not what you wanted to hear for I would imagine it is disappointing to walk away from hairstyles you love yet would work well with your cowlick.

And consider moving your part if necessary. Best of luck!!
