Hi bubbliebekah!

Welcome to the forum.

I am so sorry that you were misled by your stylist. I would have told you your hair was too dense to create this look as this is obviously a style for someone with thin hair. A lot of thinning could have been done to your hair, yet I still don't think it would have worked. You just cannot replicate a style meant for thick hair on someone with thin hair and vice versa.

The flip you've experienced is from the wave in your hair and your cut falling right in that wave. Hmmm, now what huh?

I think the best way to get something close to this for you is to ask for a tapered inverted bob style. Your bangs are NOT too short believe it or not. They just can NOT be cut any more though. I've compared 74 with 77 and cannot believe the stylist thought this was anything similar to what you asked for. ei yi yi yi. And I tell people to take pictures with them all the time. FRANKLY, I would take the picture back to the salon, ask to see the manager and then ask him or her if they see where you received anything even remotely close to the picture you showed. The manager should know the quality of each stylist's work in the salon/shop. Then ask the manager to either fix the cut (btw, it should be free this time and make sure this is clear. They messed it up and they should fix it) or refer you to his/her best stylist to do an inverted bob style with this jagged tapering in the front you desired. Ask him/her if they feel they can do this. Then advise them that should you not receive a satisfactory style free of charge, you will contact the owner of the shop and possibly post a before and after picture in the local newspaper, naming the salon where the services were botched, I mean performed.

I personally never like to send home an unhappy customer and always do everything in my power to remedy any situation around me. For I know how I have felt when someone cut my hair too short or all wrong. It's an awful feeling that leaves you wanting to stay home.

Victoria Beckham's shorter Pob from last year

Now here her bangs are longer than yours are now, yet it shows the tapering some in the back which would take away your bulk you have now. And you don't have to even go this short. In fact, a designer cut could be done incorporating the tapered back and doing the jagged cut from your original pic 77.

(Seems like your stylist didn't know what he/she was doing by telling you they couldn't do this or couldn't do that)

You may like a few of these Sarah Harding styles or they may be TOO short for you.

I realize some of these are quite extreme, especially for someone who had long hair up until recently. I agree that pic you selected is quite trendy as well as very cute and stylish. Cutting it shorter is not what you probably want, however, I think some bulk taken off the back and jagged cutting the (would be) longer front sections would give you a long, inverted bob and I think you would really like it. It may not hug you quite as close as this fine, wispy hair on this model in 77, however, it will be a style just as worthy.

Let me know what you do and decide. Best of luck. Am so sorry you've been through this, but get that cut fixed!
