Hey Fury...welcome!

The pics you found are mostly hair that is naturally straight and your hair has natural curl which doesn't mean it's impossible to work with, yet it is a challenge.

First of all, I don't think your hair is so curly you cannot adapt, however, it is not going to be that razor straight like Chace's or that last pic. The Johnny Depp one would probably work well for you. With the proper haircut, your hair may behave differently. I don't know without seeing it and working with it in person.
Ever tried to work with your hair to make it lay flat, etc.? I have given many a guy with curly hair a lot of hope when I've told them about a gadget known as an electric comb. The heat changes the hair's texture and by simply "combing" your hair into the direction you want, it will lose that curl! You may have to run the back of said electric comb down the length of your hair to really straighten it, yet it's a guy's way of dealing with too much body and straightening his hair.

You have to decide how you feel about this electric appliance. Many guys have been really happy to hear of this alternative!

And I think getting your hair cut into some kind of shape will help tremendously too. Having it "just grow" into whatever has to be driving you crazy!
