And welcome Karen!!! Sorry to hear about your stray flyaways though.
Thinning the hair with thinning shears is a gutsy undertaking. The stylist needs to take into account to not cut the thinned areas
too short or anywhere close to the hairline or parts. And yes a ponytail will show them up for sure. A conversation needs to take place between the wearer and the stylist first. And if you have coarse, resistant hair, this method is definitely not for your hair type. The latter may well apply to you Karen.
Communication is everything. We should never assume anything from either side of the chair. Make sure you ask questions and that you get complete answers. If not ask more questions when methods are recommended.
Am sorry you have this occuring Karen. Until they grow out, a little hair paste or wax will help them to stay fairly calm. Maybe you could avoid ponytails for now unless you're running around the house or gym.
