Default Beyonce

Does this really look like the hair of an African American women? How much styling and coloring and straightening is involved here? I don't even think this color looks good with her skin tone.

The cut is fine but the color really stands out in my opinion.

Your observance of this looking like African American hair is right on the money. Take note that Beyonce is one for utilizing hair extensions a lot.

She's gotten so plastic looking. Even for the disco diva look this is looking like too much.

I don't know any women, let alone African-Amerian women, that view Beyonce as a "typical" role model.

Of course many think she needs the big hair to balance her biggish bum. But I thought she just lost a lot of weight?

This is starting to look dated.

Go back and watch some of the very early Destiny's Child videos and you will see such a huge difference. Beyonce, while very pretty, just seems so fake at times. When she had the long straight blonde I thought it was really pretty, but just seemed to me like she was getting more and more Hollywood. Boo!

Not having known about Beyonce until I saw her in the third Austin Powers movie, I can't really say much as to whether she looks like the average African American woman. Well, wait. Based on the ones I know personally, very few have hair that is that straight without "human intervention." Not that every woman of color doesn't have straight hair...it just depends on various genetic variables.

I agree with leedug, too, in that the more successful Beyonce gets, the more artificial she looks. Fake. Sad, too.

Eh. She's changing her looks way too much. And what's up with the hair extensions? Every celeb seems to be using them...even Paris Hilton.

I haven't seen much of Beyonce's bum (in movies), so I can't chime in on that one, but yes, she looks pretty fake and, as you say, plastic-looking.

I wonder if she's trying to look less "black" and trying to appeal to all men...

I don't think there's anything wrong with her. She's pretty, she has nice hair and she's talented.

I have SI swimsuit edition and she has a whole spread. She looks great.

Exactly. Why is everyone complaining about her looking so fake and not having the "black" look? I mean what IS that anyways? If you want to call her plastic then may as well call 90% of celebrities plastic, but just because they have the money to make themselves look as good as they can does not make them plastic.

Talented, she is.

And she does have nice hair. No quibbles there. I just prefer a more natural look.
