His hair is definitely done by a professional stylist. I love it ! My advice is to take some pics of him into a stylist that can work with you and help you achieve that style !

I agree with at4101. I couldn't have said it better myself.

This is a standard guy's haircut leaving about 1" length on the very top (front) and ending with about 1/4" length buzzed in back, maybe about 1/8" on sides. His sideburns were artfully trimmed around.

And, as was suggested, take the pics with you when you get your cut. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Well, certainly going to a good hairstylist is a big first step.

Second, maintaining it short and nicely balanced also helps.
