Ashanti - How to?

While I was lurking Interned I run into a cover of Ashanti's new album. She looks absolutely fabolous, but her hairstyle interests me the most. That's what I'm trying to do with my hair. How can I get such wavy and more importantly, BIG hair?

To get hair to achieve this much volume and fullness, you really need to start with a lot of density.(Yes, this means, have thick hair to begin with) Thick hairstyles can be turned into some BIG styles. Though Ashanti seems to keep a straightener in her hair, hair is never totally and completely straightened without some body to remain. That would be unacceptable as hair needs some "elasticity".
What she has here is starting with her famous layered cut.

She keeps her hair colored in this rich copper brown shade and this chemical process also adds density and body to the hair. Hair is then set on large rollers and roller sets give the firmest, longest lasting styles especially when setting gels or other products are used on damp, not wet, hair. Her set appears to have been all done in vertical lines, not surprising as this is trend at present. Once hair is COMPLETELY DRY, remove rollers and start by finger combing out the roller lines. This is usually best. Or use a hair rake. You will find that curling the hair, especially in a roller set, will help the style to really come to life. And of course the layers help to make up the all over volume, or else the curls would remain only on the bottom of the hairstyle.

To get this long wavy hairstyle first you should have thick hair then only it will be possible for you. It's a long term process if you have short hair. You never mentioned any thing about your hair. Any way improve your hair with the help of extensions.
