Does henna work on blonde hair? What does it look like? Are their any benefits to using henna on hair? Is it expensive?

Hello again clubcory,
My recollections with henna are vague so bear with me. I will be honest and admit when I am not too certain. I recall learning a long time ago that henna dye comes from a plant and it is very strong. I also remember that there were certain precautions one had to keep in mind as far as mixing chemicals with it I believe. Don't want to list them here as this is where things get hazy for me. Anyone here want to help me on this who may be more schooled on henna?? Shampoostyler, Anyone? From all these things I have memory about henna, I am afraid that I have just plain stayed away from it. I know I should have just studied and researched it for confidence and perhaps I shall. For the one other thing I do recall is that it was in the "reds" family and was totally gorgeous. So yes, I would say blondes' hair would grab this dye with great results. We just have to get more specifics on the warnings.

I heard that once you dye your hair with henna, you can't use anything other than henna again until it grows out. Something about other dyes not binding with the hair or something... I only remember vaguely because I read it awhile ago.

I just saw an episode of HBO's "Rome" and in one episode Servilia went from ash blonde with dirty roots to henna red at an evening function. I am pretty sure there are some grow out limitations but a sophisticated colorists could figure a way to make it go darker.
also a darkening balm would suck up the light too. Henna red can look really chic with blacks and whites and greens in clothes. |

I can honestly say I have never heard of Henna. In all my years I don't think I have even heard the word. Have I been living under a rock or is this something that wasn't very popular? Just from reading the posts it is some sort of dye? I am clueless on it. Oh well

I remember when I was a teenager we used to use that Henna shampoo. That was actually the name of it "Henna Shampoo". It was a great shampoo. It didn;t color your hair, but it brought out highlights in your hair. If I remember right the highlights were sort of reddish.

No, I have never used this porduct, but I've heard a lot of bad reviews about this product. Most of these reviews cented around Henna being poison or professional not being properly trained to use herbal products.

I've heard of henna and know people that used henna. I heard good reviews but this was from people with brown to dark brown hair. I heard Thar henna makes the hair stronger, gives it a shine, and the best thing to use to dye your hair.
