The dye from Kool Aid lasts through several shampoos depending on your hair's porosity and shampoo harshness. As far as I know it is NOT damaging at all to the hair since it is a temporary color. However, it would be damaging if you accidentally used the Kool Aid WITH sugar. Use UNSWEETENED ONLY.

And any hair color can try it. Even black hair may see some blue in their hair.
Red heads may have purple hair when applying the blue. It would get more intense red with cherry Kool Aid. Have fun and try all kinds of colors.

A friend of mine used red and also green and also yellow kool aid years ago. The red was still with her 5 years later. I finally got rid of the by then Pink hair by cutting that clump of hair off.

Never knew that Kool Aid can be used as a hair color. When I auditioned for a school play, I used paint to dye my hair blue. It didn't turn out too well, and I wasn't that suprised actually.
