Default Kool aid

I think my daughter is going to be one of those teenagers that will want to kool aid her hair. Does any one have kids that have done that? How long does it last? Is it damaging to your hair?

Kool aid??? I've never heard of that. How long has this been going on? I remember making Kool aid as a kid and I got some of the powder on my fingers and it actually stained it for a couple of days so I guess it would work on hair as well.

What is that? Do they wash the kool aid thru their hair as a non harsh colorant? I have never heard of that. I have heard of stylists using jello in the lip gloss for shimmer.

I have seen kids with weird colored hair but never knew how they got it that way. Interesting that they would use kool aid. I am sure there is a formula on the internet on how to do it, how long, what to combine it with etc. Do you think their hair smells like the flavor kool aid that they are using LOL Sorry I can just picture a kid smelling like g****s and having purple hair.

You have never heard of Kool aid being used for color? Have you ever used it for a tie dye project? It's fun for younger kids, cause it's chemical free and stains like a dye.

As for the kool aid- the kids don't dilute the kool aid as much so it is nice and strong and they take strips of their hair and stick it into the koolaid until they achieve the color they want. I have no idea how long it lasts.

I may try it not only for cost but i just can' t deal with what my hair feels like two weeks after coloring. Hay! I might try some blue stripes I have blonde hair and always wanted to see what the blue tips might look like.

I think for Halloween it's a very good idea.

The kool aid idea is a good idea. I know if I accidently spill any on my white counters, it dyes it pretty quick. Kool aid has a wide variety of colors and cost would be great. I might try that out sometime.

My son has a lot of friends who have done this. The blue looks really cool. Another great color is lime green. Some of them use the strawberry instead of cherry and get a pink color instead of red. I don;t know how long it lasts. I'll ask them though.

I'm not sure how long it lasts but remember kids doing this when I was in school. I've never heard of using it for tie dye. What a great idea and so much cheaper than dye, too.

Well I guess using Kool aid wouldn't work on my head! I have red hair! Boy am I jealous of blondes, they can do so much to their hair!! I think I will try the tie dye idea! If anyone has instructions on that, please post!
