Hair Dying help

Well i feel like dying my hair blue.
But i have strawberry blond/ Ginger hair, people have been saying it will turn green and someone said to bleach it first. Well is this true?
If so what type of green? Coz green hair would be cool .

Your hair sounds like it is a beautiful color naturally. Yet, as a cosmetologist, I understand you wanting to try something fun and different. Bleaching your hair prior to applying most hair colors is usually recommended, depending on what color you are going for. In beauty school, we were always told anytime a color is desired that is more than two shades lighter, lightening it first was recommended, then reapply the color desired. And this definitely applies to making your hair one of these new electrifying colors.

If you are curious, you could cut a sample of your hair from an incospicuous spot and test it with the blue hair color. I think what you will see will be an unattractive brown with green to purple casting. Not appealing at all. Testing the hair is always a good idea before dying the whole head.

And I really recommend you seeking a professional before you proceed with a drastic color. He or she should test your hair first. (even bleaching the sample I mean)
