Hair color on breaking hair?

Do you think it's a good idea to use hair color on hair that's breaking? My niece hair been experiencing some breakage and she decided to get blonde highlights. She don't really take care of her that's why she's having problems. I don't stay really close to her so i can't take care of my niece hair. I think her hair is going to continue to break since she decided to get highlights.

No, I don't think it's a good idea to use color on breaking hair. I'm assuming her hair is breaking because of dryness and the color will dry her hair out more. I suggest she get a good conditioner and shampoo for color treated hair and make sure it's a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
