Default Is the perm dead?

Is the perm dead? I saw this and could not tell. is it he clothes that kill it? or does she just not have enough color?
I would say this is a good cut to go to when hair is really dead on the angled ends and needs a refresher period.

I don't like her outfit; the style is not my style. How can you tell her hair is permed? Hair is not really my strong suit, but I don't really see perm there.

I can't tell if it is a perm or if the person just has some loose natural wave in their hair. It does look a little flat but to each his own. I like a little height on mine, I definitely can't do flat like that at all.

To me, her hair seems to end before it should. The style implies to me that the hair should be longer... am I the only one seeing it like that?

I think there is a type of perm called just a body wave? This style is probably more of what a person could get away with. I just think it gives hair more body and isn't so much of a curl.

I can remember back in the 80's the rage was the spiral perm. I haven't met anybody nowadays that still has that done. It was a great "big hair" perm. My kids were laughing hysterically at my high school pictures.

I remember the spiral perm. I got one, and did I have curl for weeks. I usually get got a wave put in my hair. The spiral was a tight curl on me. I looked like a poodle for a couple of weeks after the perm. Once it relaxed, I enjoyed it.

I think some people can pull off a perm, but majority of people can not. When I think of perms now, I think of old ladies. I think most teenagers and women in their early 20's have their hair straight or wavy.
