I think the medium shag is going to be making a comeback. Nobody has time for all that hair anymore. Falls clothes are heavier and need more movement around the face. But after the long hair trends recently even shoulder length hair looks short now.

I love the look, myself. I've tried doing it numerous times, the messy style, but it never works out for me. My hair is so thin it just doesn't want to stay messy throughout the day... it goes flat and limp. Any suggestions for if I try the style again?

Here's a secret: har is heaviest at the lower back crown.
Cut the hair so movement occurs from this hair forward to the face. A back center part just top side at the back of the crown, styled forward, makes hair look fuller around the face. Just learn to keep chin down. |

I love this haircut too.
I think if sras found a stylist skilled at razor cuts to do her medium shag style, that this would help with her fine hair situation. Scissors cuts hair striaght off on the end. Even when an angle is introduced, it isn't the clean cut angle like that of a razor. Cutting at the appropriate angle and direction with a razor would help the fine hair lay more in the direction desired. Also, razor cut hair is cut when the hair is dry and therefore gives more of a blunt cut. These type of cuts do not "lay down" and therefore have more movement. What do you think shampoostyler?

I would love for the shag to come back! I use to have one when I was younger and loved it. I think it was one of the only hair styles that looked good on me. My hair is naturally wavy and it is hard to find a style that will keep my hair tame.

Shags are very "now" but very trendy. You need a lot of clothes and jewelry and makeup to make them work. They are good is you have medium body but little time for real styling. Finger combing with mud and mousse and combing over the face will do the trick.
But people always forget that product makes for facial skin problems. |

When you see someone with the hair you like this , ask them where they get their hair done. That person knows how to get this kind of hair.

I like the shag look that is really choppy looking. It looks as if someone took a pair of bad scissors to the bottom of it and the flat ironed it. The cut wouldn't look good on me because I am not trendy enough and my face is chubby.
