I want to be able to wear my hair short since I just had a baby, but I always look twenty pounds heavier. Does anyone have any suggestions. I get sick of having long hair. It takes to long to blow dry, plus I always have to tie it us with around my daughter. She pulls on it.

Mine is about an inch and a half above my shoulders and honestly I really don't blow dry it that often. I wait until it air drys and then throw some mousse in it and blow it with the mousse in it. It drys in a matter of a few short minutes and I still have the body that I want. I don't have a lot of time to spend on my hair so I find if I let it air dry while getting dressed, eating breakfast and making lunches and then run in really quick it seems to work better. Good Luck.

It would be a good idea to go just around the shoulders, takes much less work like Dreamer said. Would this be short enough, yet still long enough for you?

That is always the problem. Most women really like the longer styles of now because covering the chin and neck removes definition and exposure of neck and lines that reveal age and pounds.
I look good with short hair but even my best friends say when i want to cut it short (lose 20 pounds first). You have to go heavier on makeup too. That is not always fun. |

I don't take time to blow dry my hair anymore since having kids. I find that mashed potatoes and syrup stay in my hair the same whether I blowdry it or not. I can't really wear my hair short because it makes me look like I have a double chin.

There is a site somewhere that has a program that you can download & then scan a picture of yourself and try on different hairstyles. If you keep experimenting, you will find a short style that does not make you look heavier. I'll try to find the site for you .

I just found something for you. I was reading another thread and they had this link. It has a list of programs that you can use to try on hairstyles.

Update your wardrobe first. When I had short hair I needed more attention around the neck, no neck or open neck shirts looked very blah. Update your makeup and earrings and then go for the cut. That way it won't "settle" into the same everything just short hair.
For the weight, everyone struggles with that. Avoid patterns and stripes, keep the focus around your face. |
