Default Keeping the look all day

Ok so I have wavy hair and if I get out of the tub and just put some mousse in it, scrunch it, then hair spray it a little. It looks really cute, but I can't get it to stay. By the end of the day it looks flat and overprocessed, any suggestions?

I would skip the hairspray and replace it with a barely light spray gel instead. Or at the very least check the products for alcohol. It could be you need a new hair spray product. The alcohol will dry your hair out.

And I admit, over using hairspray is not good for the hair either.

I agree with the spray gel suggestion. I tried spray gel for the first time about a month ago, and now I would not use anything else. This stuff is amazing.

I have used spray gel in the past and really liked it. Come to think of it why I stopped I have no idea. I wish I had the kind of hair that all you had to do is wash it and put a little product in it and go. That would be great. Oh well I will have to stick with blow drying and styling.

I reread this and wanted to explain that of course, I know hairsprays have alchohol. It's just that some are horrible like the cheap brands. The only thing they're good for is getting marker and ink out of clothes.

I use professional hair spray products and know that though they too contain the needed drying properties of alcohol, they also have other quality ingredients that are good for your hair, such as sunscreen, protectants, and shine formulas. These products also leave your hair soft and flexible as if no hairspray is there.

Applying any hairspray to wet hair, such as that described by redhead26, has a different affect to the hair than when it is used on the dry, styled hair. When the hair dries, it tends to look dull and dirty looking, especially the more harsh hairsprays. The alcohol ends up working on drying out your hair while the conditioning qualities that might be in it end up getting watered down and useless in the wet strands.
