I always liked scarfs because if you use them they don't abuse your scalp and the teeth don't dig in. But a scarf always ends up twsiting around and you can't dance and perspire without ruining it.

I have seen people use bobby pins but that can ruin a silk scarf too.

I have one of these. I think I got it a drugstore like Walgreen's or Super D or somehthing. I think they even sell them at Wal-mart. I love the way they hold my fine hair. It stays in place all day.
