I always thought I had straight hair. I could see that there was a bend in it, but I didn't want to admit it. Then I had a stylist (yes, the one who did bad things to my hair) tell me that I had wave. Nah! She had to be kidding. I can't deny it anymore. LOL! I see the wave most when I let my hair air dry all the way. If I wash my hair at night before bed, I wake up with an interesting mess.
But this wave doesn't help. It doesn't help my hair curl. It doesn't help my hair hold a style. It doesn't give my hair any texture or volume. It isn't a wave I can wear all its own. My hair is baby fine and thin, but I have a lot of it. My hair has layers and is about even with my shoulder blades. How can I use this wave to my advantage? You an trick your hair into a style. Bunch it up into "mice" at night and use product to life out the volume at the root. If you keep your hair light enough it can be wavy and interesting.
When was the last time you saw anybody with a length of even brushed hair? |

Bless your heart. It's always difficult when it seems that no matter which way you turn, the options still are very encouraging. However, don't despair, all is not lost. You may have more texture than you think that should be credited somewhat to your slight wave. Yet, I can appreciate that there is not enough body from this wave to help with your styling techniques. I would style your hair, disregarding this wave all together. Yet I do not know your hair color, the length of the shortest layer, your preferred finished style look, etc. I will check back here to see if you have found my questions. In the meantime, simply treat your hair as the fine hair that it is. Often times, this type is too silky to hold curl and should either be worn straight, or a body wave considered. Now if your hair was a little shorter, it would take the weight off enough to allow products to help lock in some body. You can still try a multitude of products from waxes, serums to muds to see if they will help your hair hold some curl at the length it is now. Yet at any rate, that little bend of a wave, as you know, is not going to help so you must 'call in the troops'.

Hi Veronica. That didn't make even one bit of sense to me. Sorry. Can you explain it simpler?

Just to confirm, when I said wear it straight, I meant use a flatiron to style out the wave altogether. And when I said what style are you going for, I was guessing that maybe 'straight' is out of the question since you layered your hair for a reason, which brings me around to why I asked how long the shortest layer is. Just wanted to clarify what I had said and why I asked these questions.
Let me know : )
