Hi again lolz0r
Sorry about all the hassle. And now that you've sent me the link, all of a sudden this very picture is finally showing up for me here in the forum. LOL So I do apologize. Great picture though! I can clearly see how the hair looks. Girls who get their hair cut really short call this a "pixie" cut though on you guys, it's just a short cut, the same length of about an 1 1/2" all over. Though with this look however, the side sections were left longer and they're all one length. On the Oasis pic, his hair was longer in the back, just layered, where the side sections were all one length, and the same length as the back bottom. I am perplexed at the idea of finding out if this style has a name. It is a very kewl look. So explain to your barber/stylist that you want your hair done with even layers on the top and back, but comb the side sections separately and leave them all one length from about the temple area down. Send me a good picture if you get yours cut like this, a close-up so we can really see the style and I'll post it on the web site if you like!

Thanks for the help, I've never been ever been any good at telling the hairdressers what I want, which always leaves me with (IMO) bad-ish haircuts which takes 2-4 months of growing etc to put back right lol.
However, seems my last haircut was really bad. I got it done at a quite cheap place which was a bad idea though . I've only just recently (being a guy and all) learnt abit about hair etc and my last haircut involved layering my hair the wrong way, so hair from the crown hair is left hanging, hiding smaller, practically no layers underneath. Back then it wasn't noticable, but since growing it out abit more it has become horrible and so my only really option I think would be to shave it off. I think I would need about 4-6 inches worth of growth all over to achieve my final look.I did find an interesting product and I wanted to see what you thought about it. http://www.millamurray.com/client.htm There is alot of this stuff selling on Ebay and I was wondering would it be worth it? One testimonial claimed she got 6-7 inches on growth in 2 months. Is there any other advice you can give for quick growth? |

Hi again lolz0r
I can appreciate anyone who wants to increase their hair growth and the time it takes to achieve it. This product you've found looks interesting enough. Although I must say I cannot endorse a product until I have actually seen the results, though I wouldn't tell you to steer clear of this product either. The hair growing tips they give are pretty much "spot on" concerning the care and encouragement you can give. Scalp stimulation with massages and brushing DRY hair is a great way to get the blood flow increased and this is what gets the cells motivated in those follicles. This in and of itself is a free and easy way to encourage hair growth. Yet when accompanied with taking care of the hair you already have grown out, more success will follow. Often we tend to concentrate on what will make hair grow and ignore the precious hair we already have. Taking care NOT to abuse our hair with harsh products, overexposure to heat and yes hot water, chemicals from perms and color when we don't know what we're doing, all take their toll. We must protect each hair strand, plumping it up, keeping bad things away and yes, when we take care of ourselves with proper rest and diet, it definitely reflects in our hair. However, we have to take care of the hair itself, trimming the split ends and all that protection keeps what hair we have from becoming weakened, damaged and breaking off. ![]() Yes, many times longer hair won't grow longer cause it is breaking off on the ends as that's our "oldest" hair and if it's been through a lot, it will get to the point where it can't hang in there any longer. And yes, there are products our there that help give back the protein and hydration that helps protect it. Those tips given are back-up too because the most expensive products in the world would be for nothing if you didn't take care of your hair. So I don't know how well this product protects and replenishes what your hair needs. And so, I'm afraid I cannot offer you anything where that's concerned, except what you already knew. You'll have to try it to find out! In the meantime, why don't you just print out those hair tips and follow them as much as possible, paying close attention to scalp stimulation through massage, hair brushing and as I tell the ladies, pulling on your hair when they braid or put in ponytails increases blood flow too. (this is for the women reading this, you, my friend could just keep pulling on your hair LOL) That's why you'll see the ones that do this have faster hair growth. One thing I will say about those tips, being careful not to rub your hair more than necessary during shampooing, does not mean you can't get those fingertips in there to massage that scalp. RINSE WELL. and remember this, all scalp massage will stimulate and increase oil production. So be aware of that. This means more shampooing, however, all this activity will eventually lead to more hair.

Any massaging of the scalp with your fingertips, or brushing with a bristle brush that you reach down to the scalp with. Anything that will get a tingling in the scalp to assure that you are getting that blood flowing.
For how long? A few minutes a couple of times a day will be good. 5 minutes if you can x 1 or x2 daily if you can do it that long at least. Once people see results, they increase their time.

No perfume or colour added. ^^^ Does all this pretty good? I'm definately considering buying it. |

This is why I don't answer right away sometimes. I lost my first post.
Will try this again! Hello lolz0r, You are so right. I never did get back to (like I thought I had) regarding this shampoo. Do you know that the first ingredient in the list for any product is the ingredient that product has the most of? The second one listed is the second most (percentage wise) ingredient in the product, and it goes from there. In this case, the shampoo has more Aqua than anything else. Next it has more Sodium Laureth sulphate and this sent up a red flag for me. Sure there are other shampoos that have it. However, I started looking through my stash and couldn't find it listed on the salon products. Google Sodium Lauroth sulphate (which should be Sodium Laureth Sulphate, the website misspelt it) to find out more about it. I think you will understand my reservations when you learn all you can find about it. And just looking at the first few lines in the search results can give you an education. Sodium Benzoate is an ingredient found in some sodas (as well as far too many things we consume) that is considered a health risk. Why doesn't the FDA protect us on any of these products? That's a good question. However, I'm finding out that we trust the FDA way too much and should educate ourselves. Apparently, if they can get away with something, they will. And they do. It's a slow process of how some ingredients affect us and by the time they reach their potential, we (or our doctors) are blaming something else and the real reasons are never picked up on. But don't get me started. Just research the ingredients, the first five will do. I will tell you that the ceteryl alchol is organic, yes, but alcohol is alcohol. It is very drying. And Sodium Chloride is nothing but SALT. Yes, salt, which is a natural bleach, good for cleaning but that will also dry your hair out!!! Accompany that with the heavy duty cleaner of Sodium (more sodium which is salt) Laurel sulphate and I'd think twice about that shampoo. Oh sure it is loaded with the Aqua to cover up all these overpowering cleaners that make your hair so clean and the Aqua will take care of the smell and the dryness to an extent at least. Manufacturers THRIVE on us consumers NOT researching their ingredients. They know we don't have the time to do it to every product and they're right. However, while they're padding their purses, we are suffering slowly. So buyers beware. Become a label reader and after a while, you won't have to look up most of the ingredients!!! You'll have another education and will KNOW upon seeing it in the list what they are.

Ah ok thanx
![]() Is it possible if you could tell then about some of the hair growth pills that you get around? I've read some of the ingredients and quite a few (GNC nourishair) seem to contain just a bucket load of vitamins/biotins etc. Do they work? |

I really wish I could be more help in this area. However, I'm afraid, I cannot attest first hand how well, or not, these remedies work. No one I know, who has tried any of them has had any remarkable luck.
I can tell you that people who have been ill or on a lot of medication have had it affect their hair. Their hair became dull, lifeless, would stop growing or worst still, fall out. On the other end of the scale, people who are in great health, who eat all the right things, "take vitamins", exercise, have healthy hair that grows at a normal or above normal rate. Therefore, these pills that are nothing more than enhanced vitamins, would be good for you if they are in fact vitamins, so yes, they would be helpful in that respect. Yet, wouldn't it be cheaper to just take care of yourself anyway and buy your own vitamins?
