Hi there stone186.
Welcome to the forum! Your hair is just a haircut away from where you want it to be. You have the length and the weight to carry off this look. Two questions. Is that natural body? Do you have a professional stylist? You need a good razor, texture cut and a pro should do it as they know what and where to trim. It wouldn't take length, just take off the ends in a way to cut down on the curly bulk and texturize it to allow the style to "move". Ask him or her what product you may need to apply to the ends as it dries, or after it is dried. With the right cut, your look is pretty much maintenance free. You only need to go get it "shaped up" every 4 -7 weeks depending on how fast it grows.

Thanks Toni,
And the answers to your questions are Yes and no. I realize a pro should do it but would a pro be considered my local hairstylist or are you talking something bigger? Recently I have been trying to add Garniers curl and shine products to the ends to make it look different. |

Garnier products have a lot to offer depending on what you need.
I use them from time to time myself.Your local hairstylist should be sufficient as he/she would be licensed in their state as a professional. Yet more importantly, barbers and stylists need to stay 'up-to-date' by attending workshops and seminars to keep up with today's constantly changing trends. Some, however, are just naturally gifted and talented with a razor or scissors. You definitely need a razor cut to remove some bulk and have your hair do what you want it to do. Talk to your stylist about razor cuts to see where he/she is at with this field of expertise. Once you receive your cut, discuss what professional products are available in their shop to enhance this look you want. Or try the Garnier products again, all on your new style to decide which one you prefer best. Most importantly. Take those pictures with you when you get your hair cut. There's no shame in it at all. It is the only way you can be sure you and your stylist are on the same page.
