Default hair advice

Hi, i have short to medium hair so far and im still growing it out. i want my hair to look like this

http://www.hairstyleswatch.com/2973/...eo-game-launch

the only problem is my hair isnt that thin or flexible, when i get out of the shower my hair looks great untill it dries and it looks like a mop on my head. it gets thick and looks dry and damaged it just looks BLAHHHHHH. are there any products i can use to thinn my hair and give a wet and natural look all day long?

ive tried leave in conditioner, many gels, mouses, ect i dont know what im doing wrong

Step by step advice would be great to get that hairstyle but anything will be appriciated =)

Hiya Cartman,

You picked a great style. That look is a choppy cut blown dry mostly to the one side as you can already see.

When you say your hair is not that flexible, is it crunchy coarse from being dried out? or just coarse naturally?

Products won't make your hair look thin necessarily, however, if you hair is frizzy, hair serum applied when hair is damp will help the frizzy hair close up, smooth down and therefore the overall volume is going to decrease. Take care of the dry hair and the frizzies is not only a good start, it is essential for the health of your hair. No hair style is going to work or be at its optimal best unless the hair is well taken care of.

So, with that said, when is the last time you had the ends trimmed? Sorry, I had to ask that, huh? It's just that you don't want any split ends to get away from you. If so, all that time spent growing out those long strands is for nothing if they go up in splits. I hope this is the cause of your dry ends and possibly frizz.

Guys don't like to think about "fussing" over their hair, however, whenever longer hair is sought, care has be taken no matter your gender. Visit a uni*** salon, ask that your ends be trimmed and a conditioning treatment under the dryer may be recommended by them. They will know as they can actually see what is going on with your hair. Since I am guessing about this, I will say that you can get deep conditioners from a beauty supply store and you can do it at home if you're interested. Let me know.

Best of luck and let me know.

hey thnx for the quck reply yea crunchy coarse sounds just about right. i havent had a haircut ina while and my hair isnt that long so i guess a trimming will help with the split ends and help in growing faster or is that just a myth?

anyways ill look for hair serum tomorrow any suggestions?

It's not a myth actually as split ends means breakage, which means hair gets shorter in places, eventually all over. Of course, the timeline for this varies depending on the persons overall hair health. Breakage can occur on hair that is brittle must faster of course than hair that is healthy yet the ends are splitting. The latter type may not see the breakage results for a year or more.

As for the smoothing serum, I prefer Biolage by Matrix brand found in beauty supply stores and salons. The store would carry a lot of different kinds. The serum is also a heat protectant which you personally would need as well if you blow dry your hair a lot.

Do you work out in the elements? Or around high heat? This can also affect your hair.

Will check back on your reply.

Oh yes, once a day is plenty! It may be too much.
It all depends on what shampoo you are using. Some shampoos are harsh and can literally strip the hair of essential, natural oils. There is one type of shampoo that surprises most people actually.

Oh that shampoo is fine! People are shocked when you tell them that baby shampoo is bad for your hair. They think it's gentle and the answer to their needs, especially when they are having issues. On dry, stressed or damaged hair, it actually makes things worse. It has the pH for the tear ducts yet not for the hair itself. It's fine to use for a while on a baby's head to get them past that delicate stage. However, on our adult hair, it's brutal!

Merry Christmas!!!!
