Smile What is this hair called? And how can I achieve this?

Hey

For a few weeks, I have wondered what this hairstyle is called and how I can achieve it?

Sorry for the picture. I know it's not the best quality with the colours and contrast, but it was the best I could find

Thanks for any answers and advice

Hey back there germany!
and Welcome!!!

This is referred to by many as "spiked" or spikey hair as it literally means to take sections and 'spike 'em up'.

To achieve this, hmmm. Well that depends. How long is your hair? Is it layered?

Freezing spray is a last resort for longer, weak hair as it dries stiff to keep hair EXACTLY where you want it. There are other products out there to help you get your hair to stay work in varying degrees depending on whether you want the style to be serious standing up straight or just out there with some bend and how long it is. The length is important.

I don't want to overwhelm you so just tell me your hair's specifics and we'll take it from there. For example, is it strong enough (or short enough) to stand up when drying and stay?

No, my hair is actually very curly. I straighten it almost every morning, and that helps it getting almost 100 % layered. Not in the sides, as it is only half an inch or such in the sides, so it's not possible to straighten it in the sides.

On top, and on the back, it's about 2,5 - 3 inches long, so when it's dried and straightened it can somewhat stand up. But if I shake my head, it would move around a little.
Also, my hair tend to be a little dry..

Hope this is enough information, elsewise, just ask again

So it sounds like the top of your hair is perfect to keep it spiked. If you want it longer and spiked (as you grow it out more) or if you don't like it to "move around" as you say when you shake your head, you will have to use products to make it STAY in place.

Do you think you'd like the idea of freezing spray? This type of hair spray makes your hair stiff and stay right where you put it. Just don't hold the spray too close so it doesn't blow it and move from where you originally wanted it. The more you spray, the more stiff the do...and btw, it takes a couple of shampoos to get it out and you'll need to condition every time you shampoo as hair spray, especially this kind, will dry it out more. You may have to deep condition anywhere from x1 week to x2 month, depending on how often you use the freezing spray.
