Im looking to get a haircut soon and i feel i need one bad.
I have silky, smooth hair. Its really dark brown but its lightening up a bit. Im 15 and my hair grows pretty fast. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...mentaspx-2.jpg http://s249.photobucket.com/albums/g...ent=lakdfa.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...99/mystory.png http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...44c4ec6232.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...8899f03154.jpg I have a white kinda bigish forehead and idk how i would l ook with short hair. Can you guys tell me how/what kinda hairstyle I should get? Maybe some pictures? I feel my hair is not in style and ive had the same hair cut for about 4 years unless i get it cut for sports. (Wich in the shorter hair pictures) I dont know what to do. Last edited by +mw.Chem; 07-07-2008 at 12:50 PM. |

Hey there +mw.Chem!
Welcome to the forum! Hmmm. I hesitate to answer you about advising you for a haircut as I don't know your likes or dislikes. I WILL say that people have to accept that they need to not only follow what looks best for their head shape and its size; as well as their face and neck features, they must go with the flow of their hair growth and its response. Your current hairstyle looks like you follow a natural hair growth of straight, growing forward hair. And, I'm guessing here, that you don't fight it with any parts as it doesn't want to part for you, you'd have to train it since it has been growing and styled this way for so long....AND/or is it that you completely desire to hide your forehead??? Which pic is more recent? The one of you in the red shirt or the one taken from above you while wearing your hoodie? Since some of these pics are up close, it's difficult to determine your exact face shape. Cameras tend to add weight and width to our features, especially close-ups. It looks like you MAY have a long face and you really notice this in the forehead area so you shorten your entire face by completely covering your forehead. And yes bangs will definitely shorten up facial length. Please advise has to how you feel about a little fullness in your style. And, How did you feel about having your hair cut out around your ears like in the pic with the red shirt? You do realize a shorter haircut (especially one that is considerably short) will make you look older. Perhaps this is what you are ready for? And if I am correct in the assessment that your face is long with the forehead you described, a shorter haircut, especially one with the sides cut short and close is going to emphasize a longer face, and you would have to keep the length on top going down the forehead to help hide that some as short on top would definitely accentuate length in your face and head. I couldn't recommend a style that is short and flat on top to NOT ADD height and elongate your face further and then something that would fluff out on the sides to help give the illusion of widening your face as this kind of style does not usually look good on anyone. You would end up with something like this! ![]() So think about all this and also let me know how you feel about layering your hair to lighten its movments. Daniel Radcliffe Zac Efron These might be pics you could print and take to your local hair cuttery. OR, you may want to try growing it out and do like I suggested to someone else recently...... Picture this ONLY in your haircolor! (not suggesting you go blonde either) Theordore Lee A razor on your length and a little product applied quickly before heading out the door could give you this trendy look too. Let me know how radical or conservative you want to go. TTFN

i do not desire to hide my forehead.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...mentaspx-8.jpg ^Most recent picture I have. I dont want it to be any longer b/c i play sports and its annoying when you have to keep it up specially in my football halment and baseball hat. I didnt really mind it that much having it cut over the ears and people say with shorter hair i look older. I kinda think that i should layer my hair maybe that would look best but im not sure how short im willing to go when i layer it. Thats another reason I want a hair cut is b/c of sports. Thanks for you help toni. |

Hey again,
Ok. this process of elimination helps. And I definitely understand about the sports. The Daniel Radcliffe style is layered and pretty much about like yours (just a little shorter I think) and this is what your style would resemble layered at about the length you just showed me in that pic. It would lighten up your style and therefore keep you a bit cooler during games. I also want to point that the layering would enable you to comb (including "finger combing") out of the way allowing hats and helmets to be worn without hot hair in your eyes or on your forehead or ears. For example, the Zac Efron style could be pushed back out of the way for sports. That's the beauty of layering. IF, and I know it's up to you ultimately, so IF you decide to try the layering, you could do that step and leave your hair at the same length. So often, people think that the only way they can get layers means to cut their hair to a shorter length. NOT true. You can take it one step at a time. Layer it now, then next time go a little shorter, etc. This way you can comb your hair off to the side or down the middle or whatever and it will lay back, or let it fall down on your forehead if you want. Something to think about. I will keep an eye out for a style you may be interested in. I hope you will do the same. Keep me posted, k?

I think short haircut with short side bangs may suit you. At now your side bangs are heavy. I feel it will be fine.
