Hey Nonchalance!

When I pause the video to try and get a good look, it is still difficult to see focused detail. However, it looks like finger waves! They became popular in the 1920's and it is something my state's board of Cosmetology required for me to pass to get my license. You completely saturate the hair (in this case...short hair) with gel, comb it straight down and then working from the top down, you use your, what else?, finger and a comb to make waves going back and forth. Where his hair is quite short, it appears to have a part between each wave. Usually one wave is convex onto the forehead while the next would refrain (concave back) off the forehead in a back and forth motion. His appears to have parts in between.

I may be way off the mark about this, yet like I said, this is what IT LOOKS LIKE to me.

I'm picturing a look like this gal has, though her waves are wider than the rapper's. It's a very chic and striking look. And all it takes is the gel, comb and your finger. I will admit, it's easier to do on another one's head then to do on your own, so if you have a friend who wants to try it on you, that's the way to go!

Eric Boyd

This guy has really short hair, yet you can really see the design. Just imagine the hair a little longer and waves sweeping a little further down the forehead and you will see why I see Suga Free's hair to be in finger waves.

BTW, this works on all length of hair, though it's only going to work on the scalp hair. So if hair is significantly longer than your chin, it's only going to finger wave down the head and neck and the remaining would have to hang free, though you can wave it to match by working down the length horitzontally with a curling iron every few inches according to the finger wave design.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I think it is finger wave style. This is old hair style easily 8 years back. The name itself indicates it like a wave separated by finger lines. This hair style is good for who has less hair.

Hey Nonchalance,

It just hit me, could you be referring to the "Marcel" hairstyle?

I've been trying to remember what these fingerwaves were called back in the 1920's when they became so popular. Since I wasn't around then, LOL, I couldn't recall from memory!
Today, I saw the name and it jumped out at me. That's it!

I do hope you return to read this! Sorry I wasn't more prompt with this complete response.
