Haircut gone wrong :(

right so im a 19 male who has had long hair(shoulder length or more) for about 5 years...I went for a haircut today, just wanted a couple of inches off and layers put back in but instead she cut off loads and now it dosent even cover my neck and with the way my hair curls I just look like oscar wilde.

despite the fact i love my long hair I really dont wanna look like this for about 3 months(i looked like a fool with this length hair when I first started growing it) so I wondering should I just shave it or try to style it some way but I cant think of any good styles that suit me or my hair...I might just get dreads and see what they look like for the laugh but I dunno...im just really annoyed right now

anyways any ideas are appriciated

Sorry I took so long to respond. I did once however, the site didn't post it and it got lost. I had to run at the time. So here I am again and I DO hope it's not too late and you've done something rash like shave your head.

I wouldn't recommend that! You obviously LOVE your hair long. Think about how you'd have to grow it out again to this length anyway. Why prolong it when you actually want it longer than it is now?

I can appreciate that you are "annoyed". That was totally wrong to take so much off. Please ALWAYS communicate with the stylist and make sure you BOTH know what is going on. Tell him/her "whatever you do, I don't want it shorter than here and show them!

Ok, the past is past so now what? Dreads could be an option for fun if you want to do that. And there's extensions IF you know someone who is good at them and affordable. I don't know your head shape or face shape or hair texture so I hesitate giving you any advice on a hairstyle.

Maybe you just came here to vent and that's cool. If you really would like some suggestions. Send me a picture of your current haircut...have someone take it digitally or scan pic or take with phone camera (as long as the quality is decent to see anything) and send to internet. If you don't want to post it here, send me a private message with it.

At the very least describe your hair, how it behaves, lays, etc. and if you have a round face, long face, wide face. whatever. I will try to help you. Oh and hair color helps too. If you live up to your user name, then I would know your hair type. : D Let me know how you feel about emo looks or messy looks too.

Yeah Toni, you are absolutely correct. With out knowing hair type and face shape we can't suggest any solution. If you provide we can give a solution to your hairstyles problem.
