Default Help! need to change my style!

Im bored of the hair style i have! but i do not feel confident to just take a picture of some random hair i like and ask for it!

Here are 3 pictures of me:
1 straight on and then left and right side.

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m.../Photo31-1.jpg

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m...sa/Photo34.jpg

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m...sa/Photo32.jpg

My hair is longer than usual in these pictures but i just feel like i need to change my hair as i have had this style for about a year now.

The problem i have and worries me is i have very thin hair! i had a matte effect gum in my hair when i took those pictures so you can't really tell but my hair is very thin! So im not sure if i should have a simular long hair "emo" style i guess its called or if i should cut more off and have a slightly shorter look?

A friend of mine said i should go for something like this:

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m...airideas-1.jpg

But i am not sure! so im looking for some more opinions!

Let me know if you need anything else

Cheers

EDIT:

A friend just said i should go for this aswell:

Would that work?

Hello hazz! and welcome to the HW forum!

I can appreciate thin hair as I have it myself. Can tell you that your hair does seem to have some texture and great movement. The matte gum seems to work for you.

Layers are in both of these styles your friend(s) recommended and I usually shy away from these for thin hair as they take bulk out of a hairstyle. When you don't have much hair to begin with, the last thing you want to do is take more away!

Personally, I feel that last hairstyle is out for any style that is layered going to thin your hair more AND this style lays flat against your head and won't seem or feel like you have anything.

The first one, however, IS a possibility. Here again you still have the layers, but they have texture, and density in standing up, giving the illusion of more hair and volume. This will be YOUR decision in the end. Once you layer, you have to let them grow out if you may end up thinking that working with them was a mistake.
You CAN try this style yet, I would want to know something. When you have shorter hair, is it coarse enough, strong enough to stand up on its own at all??? Your hair seems pretty straight and looks like it always lies flat. So which one is it?

If it will stand up some, than it won't take much to get it spiked the way you like. If it is stubborn, it will take you a while to style it the way you like, though shorter hairs are much much easier to get to stand out or spike. At the length you have now, it won't stand up or out at all I imagine unless you used hair glue that dries your hair out alot.

If you are willing to use the proper product(s), a blow dryer and time to get it the way you want, chances are it won't take long to style it each time.
AND a little lightening bleach gives strength and texture. I would suggest this only on the ends to lighten the look (though that won't strengthen the hair at the scalp where you need it for standing up). It WILL make the look appear "uplifted" more AND if you do NOT like it, it will only be on the ends and soon can be snipped off. If you DO like it, you can have the hair highlighted on top or in custom sections only(those that you want spiked) and this will give some more strength to those spiked sections all the way down to the scalp.

There ARE possibilities.
And a razor cut (ONLY ON LONG LAYERS OR all-one-length hair) as you have it now is another option. I HAVE seen red-headed emo looks, especially if you color or lighten any part of it.
These styles are a consideration. Not real pics, but something to start with.
I am partial to a certain, particular emo style that I can't seem to insert here. Cannot find it on the web anymore though I have the thumbnail on my PC. Will see what I can do to post or send.

If I come across anything else I will let you know. In the meantime, just know that unless you are going to spike your hair, layers are just not a good idea as I've already explained. Using a lot of products to make it stand up will work, however, they dry your hair out eventually. Though short layers grow fast usually and regular trims and cuts takes care of that problem. Think about it....layers with product, work and maintenance trims OR settle for something all-one-length or barely layered...preferably razored...it's best for fine hair for texture.
It's your choice.
ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY IDEAS?
Good Luck hazz!

Cheers for the fast reply!

Ok i thought my thinness would be a problem! and no if i have short hair it lies flat and i would have to use a gell to make it stand up!

What would you suggest i have done?

Something like this? :

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m372/Hazzsa/Mike.jpg

Or do you think it is best to stick with longer hair? i have no idea!:|

If anyone could link me or email me some pictures! that would be awsome!

email me on hazz_sa@live.com if you cant upload them on photobucket or something!

Cheers

Hi again hazz,

That hairstyle WOULD work and be easy for you. I'd like to see the ends look more sharply and not so blunt though. It's a messy version of almost those pics of you. Which reminds me of that longer look I told you about which would also work on you.

I will email it to you since I am having problems inserting it here.

Either the one I'm sending or that one you linked here just now WILL work!
And they'd be pretty much (daily that is) maintenance free!

I do like that last picture i sent you just scared about the length haha i havn't had hair like that in a long time! what would i have to do to it product wise? just a gell to mess it up? then maybe wax to hold it?

I would try gel to mess it up first. Have your stylist razor cut the ends so the are not in perfect precision with each other. That always causes the hair lie down nicely and that's against what you're looking for!

You're welcome. Am glad you got the pic to work for you! Have a great weekend!

I have been looking today!

and found these two pictures:

http://img1.liveinternet.ru/images/a...1191985766.jpg

http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/200...rawford300.jpg

I would think of having my back and sides layered like the first picture and the rest like the second?

would that look ok on me?

What would i have to do product wise to keep it looking good?

Cheers

Hi again hazz!

I know I said that shorter style (below) would work alright for you. However, here is the reasoning behind all the advice I gave or would give.

You have what is considered a long face. You don't want any height (fullness on top) of your style to make your face appear longer (taller). Any messiness, bulk (texture) rather along the sides, would give illusion of widening your face. Having fine hair, it would take, as I said, shorter layers and/OR razored ones that would give texture and/or messy look should be taken into consideration.

Therefore, pick some styles that you really, really like, then weed out those that fall into the above guidelines.

Try this and let me know which ones you are deciding between.

Cheers toni

I want to go for the messy look i think, i have been looking over the weekend and think this is what im going to do :

I decided to not lose so much of my length because im not sure if it will suit me at first! so i looked for a style simular to mine but a bit shorter and found this :

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m372/Hazzsa/Owen.jpg

i think that length is good and i prefer how the fringe is to the other pictures! However i still wanted some parts different like the back i do not want my back that long so i shall show this picture for the back:

http://img1.liveinternet.ru/images/a...1191985766.jpg

I also want more random layers so i shall show the picture above and this one for the layering:

http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/200...rawford300.jpg

How would i style it to show the layers and messy look well?

Cheers
