Default Need new hairstyle recommendations

Hey everyone!

Ok so I'm in a bit of a dilemma: I desperately need a new hairstyle. I’m 16 and I still have the same plain hair as I did when I was 12. But I just don’t know what style to get! I’ve tried figuring out my face shape in order to narrow down hairstyles a bit, but I’m not even sure if I did it right, so I can’t tell for sure which shape I have. I think it’s either diamond or heart, but again, I’m not even sure about that. I’ll post a picture and maybe somebody can take a guess, because yours is as good as mine!

I’d like a long hairstyle (preferably no shorter than 16 inches) with no coloring. Something I could just run a brush through and walk out the door with. Y’know, something I don’t have to spend 30 minutes on with a curling iron or something like that. I’ve looked around online and so far have only found one that I really like.

I LOVE that color! I would dye my hair that color if not for two problems: 1. My parents would probably go berserk, and 2. I don’t know my “colors”. I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to everything in the beauty/fashion department. So putting the color aside, I like the style. (Sorry for the big picture, I didn’t realize is was so large until I uploaded it.)

I think thinning and layering would be nice because my hair is extremely fine and thick, which I have come to learn equals extremely easy to tangle. It also likes to flyaway a lot. Here are the pictures!

(Sorry, I tried to get it all in one shot, but apparently my arms aren’t long enough.)

So basically, I’d like something that’s long, fast and easy. Any suggestions? Please?

Update:
Somebody has made a suggestion to me for this hairstyle...

Would something like that look good on me?

Hi there 7amanda! Welcome to the Hairstyles Watch FORUM !!!!

You have a heart shaped face, one that is broader across the forehead and is not flattering to have hair combed back off of it to emphasize it, therefore, the two hairstyles that you and your friend have chosen would cover the sides and draw the eyes down those lines. Heart shaped faces end up down to a chin that is narrow.

Madonna and Carrie Underwood are celebrity heart shaped faces.

Madonna
I realize her styles are not what you are looking for...too short and time consuming as well.

However,

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood

consistently wears an extreme, combed over part to cover her forehead, though, where the Ashley hairstyles you have, note their foreheads as exposed at the parts compared to Carrie's. Today's styles go for this type of part on Carrie and the alternative would be to take any of these haircuts and replace them with an angled part, a regular side part or an off center part.

Bottom line, any of Carrie's or the pics you have here will work. The more razored framing and fullness along the chinline to help fill it out, the better! And they are all easy to create, not 30 mins. Layering will take out your bulk as you already know, like in Ashley Olsen's and Carrie's. You would get rid of a lot of those tangles, which, btw, comes with the territory on long, all-one-length hair.

A few minutes putting product in your hair before and/or after drying, touching up with extra-large barrel curling iron and you're set.

I do hope this helps! And you won't have to color your gorgeous blonde hair! Good luck!

Oh and one more VERY IMPORTANT THING! When you decide, take the picture with you to the stylist. I can never emphasize this enough!! This way, you and him/her will know exactly the look you want! Have fun!!!

Thank you so much! This really does help a ton! I do really like Carrie's hairstyles. It's especially relieving to finally get another opinion on my face shape too.

Again, thanks a million for all the advice, I'm definately going with that third picture of Carrie. Maybe I'll post an updated pic sometime this week?
