Hello again bolesregan,

If you are losing hair, why do you feel dandruff is causing it?

If one has excessive dandruff, it leaves lots of dead skin on the scalp and would keep your scalp from breathing. When the scalp cannot breathe, it will cause a noticeable slow growth for the new hairs that generate themselves to replace our hair everyday. Normal lifespan for a single strand of hair is about 4 to 5 years. We do not cycle them all at the same time, however, things can stunt the growth of new hair that would replace hair we shed and therefore cause us to see the difference in our hair's density.

Dandruff certainly is a problem and there are dandruff shampoos available. However, I do not like to recommend any until it is determined to be the absolute last and only option left. See once you start using a dandruff shampoo, you're stuck into using it forever.

Be sure it is not a dry scalp problem. Shampoos or other styling products that are either stripping out the natural oils or have alcohol in them to dry scalp will cause flaking for certain. People often mistake this for dandruff. Be sure to rinse and rinse and rinse all shampoo out as residue from the shampoo's detergents will dry out your scalp.

Are we talking more hairs in the brush or drain? Coming out in clumps? Noticeable thinning in any areas? Let me know! Please!
You may have scaling, yes, however, noticeable hair loss is usually another situation in addition to any dry scalp or dandruff.

Thank you Toni for your information. Many people think that hair loss will mostly depends on only dandruff. I felt the same. I look forward for anti dandruff shampoo, i should stop that one. Can i do anything for my hair?

If you are already using dandruff shampoo, then yes, you're stuck with those products. I don't know what you are using now, however, switch to a new one each time you buy to see which one works best for you. It's important to switch around on the shampoos so you're not depleting your hair and scalp of the same things all the time. Change is good when it comes to products. I keep 2-3 different shampoo and conditioners to switch around on at a time. This goes for dandruff shampoos as well.

Also, I don't think I made it clear enough before. However, I wish to state with more clarity now. Hair loss is NOT caused by dandruff. If you are experiencing hair loss, it is due to another problem/reason. And should this be much more than normal loss, I would suggest seeking a physician's advice. It could be an underlying medical condition, prescriptions you are taking, any number of things.
