Goku's hair in Dragonball, achievable?

Hello, I am from the Netherlands and have thick, curly brown hair. I have always been obsessed with Goku's hair (in the supersaiyan forms, mind you, not the regular form). Let me explain:



Goku's hair in SSJ1 form. Unfortunately, this stuff only works in the ***** if you ask me. I cannot imagine myself walking with this kind of hair, so... Moving on



Goku's hair in SSJ3 form (Goku's hair in SSJ2 form is nearly identical to SSJ1). Pretty nice, but very very... not practical, not to speak of the virtual unattainability even with 50 pounds of extensions.

HOWEVER, THIS...











Is really really awesome (perhaps not literally, but almost identical with some modifications here and there would be pretty cool). I am afraid, however, that this is not very easy to obtain (to start with I am not asian which naturally have good hair, secondly I have curly hair (although it is very thick and also healthy) and lastly (and in this case also least) it is brown (but hey, dye can fix that no?).

How would I go about obtaining such hair? Right now I am growing my hair.

Perhaps someone is familiar with Bill Kaulitz? He has roughly (not as I want it in the end, but a good guideline) the same hair in the pic I provided (click the name) but in other pics his hair looks extremely horrible =-\

Yes, Bill Kaulitz has his hair much smoother and uniform in that pic!

Yet, as you say, it's a good guideline and it's a reminder that it will take a little work when styling your look, however, it will be worth it.

First, go and obtain a chunky layer cut (during or after you grow it out). Apply products. I like to use gel and mousse together for extra hold though there are many others to try. Blow dry upside down for maximum fullness.Use an electric hot comb to straighten out your curls. It can be bought most places a girl would buy a curling iron. Let hair cool, then, take sections, starting with top layer, and back comb (tease) them by spraying section first with hair spray, tease, then lay back while working down the head doing most of the head, at least the top half in sections of back-combed hair. Allow hair spray to completely dry, then finger comb back down a little to where you want it, smoothing the topmost layer with a brush...lightly. It will take some experimenting, but you'll get the hang of it all. Practice will make perfect.

Right now I have a curling iron but it does not seem to be working. I cannot get the ends of my hair straight and as soon as I apply gel it just shoots back into curlmode which really annoys me. So then I get the iron again and iron it while there is gel in my hair, which brings me back to scenario 1 (it looks like I didn't apply gel at all).

Right now my hair is just... a bunch of hair, really. While it is growing out I would like a haircut like this:



until I have enough length to have SSJ4 hair.

Now I was wondering, if I go to a barbershop and I show some pictures of this hairstyle, will they laugh at me saying it is impossible or...? I really don't want to end up like this guy(girl?):

Hey again Kakarot!

First of all, do not go into a men's barbershop. Unless they are ultra-mod, I would visit a trendy uni*** salon. And YES take the pics..including that chick. She does look bad. First of all, her hair is too long and it makes the spikes too tall. And, even if the layers were shorter, she only did the top????

So tell them, you want this...but not this.

Know that these comic pics are drawings without real depth and texture of a hairstyle. To see if you really like this style on you, I would use hair glue....not as bad as it sounds, however, you HAVE to shampoo it out, lathering a couple of times. The salon will probably use this method, though some surf hair products (you can buy in department stores..not sure about where you live the names of them). Some products will help your hair to stand up, but the essential key is that haircut. I cannot stress that enough. Got to have that chunky cut.

You wrote you used a curling iron...you meant a flatiron (straightener) didnt you? And the electric hot comb I mentioned works great too. Don't use gel on dry hair while using heat. I Have use hairspray on a section prior to applying heat and that works great. but will look shiny and maybe a little stiff afterwards. Did you try teasing your hair near the scalp? Try that, then run a flatiron up will applying spray on styling products. Read labels in the hair products aisle. Or better yet, go in a uni*** salon and ask them what products they recommend (including over the counter products..in other words, not necessarily the expensive ones they carry). I'm not sure what products are available where you live.

hello!

I am back and I got my hair straightened, it looks really cool now! Unfortunately it is not long enough as of yet. Pictures will follow once they are on my PC.

Wow! Chemically straightened? I skimmed over our posts here and see you did tell me your hair was curly. Be careful with chemical straighteners, they are harsh and will burn your hair right off if the person does not know what they are doing. Or if they apply the product over already chemically straightened hair. It takes really strong hair to take this abuse and even they suffer breakage. I usually only recommend chemical straighteners if hair has too much curl and is strong (Asian, African, Oriental, etc.) Tell me about the culture of the Netherlands. Do you have strong coarse hair???

Sounds like you are happy with it and I'd love to see it. Yet, as I say, be careful with that. And once your "virgin" hair starts to grow out at the scalp, it could cause you to be unhappy with the results when trying to spike it. And I fear you'll be back to get that regrowth straightened and that's when the heartaches can start.

Let me know how strong your hair is AND please make sure you trust the judgement of your stylist.
