Hey TRDisagree!!!
Welcome to the forum!

I cannot see your entire face, yet would say that what I can see, YES that style will work for you. The fringe alone is appropriate for your high forehead.

However, I am curious as to why your hair thinned out so suddenly? If it fell out, you need to find out what caused it? Illness? Stress? Medications, or an accident??? Some people have complained their hair got thin and it was the result of a a lot of layering. I hope that's all that did yours!!!
If it broke off, did you use any kind of chemicals? (hair color or perms?)

Growing your hair out to this style would be a great choice and I'm happy to discuss with you whatever you may need to get it healthy and to this length.

Thank you! I certainly appreciate it. I saw a dermatologist about 6 months ago, and apparently was in the early stages of pattern baldness. Since then, I was put on medication (propecia) which luckily has worked and basically stopped any more thinning than what i already had. I also have been using the Nioxin system, and take biotin. All of those combined I believe have been successful.

I guess I basically would like to know how to describe that cut to my stylist, or is it best just to show a picture? Also what can i expect my hair to look like as it progresses to the end result? Can I expect a not so flattering style while it grows out?

You're welcome! And so happy to hear that a physician was able to help you! You're too young to be having such problems!!!! Yet, instead of ignoring the problem, I'm so proud of you for taking the 'bull by the horns' as they say.

YES, take the picture. I always recommend this. That way, there is NO miscommunication. I can advise you all day long as to how to describe this style or what its name is, yet I have no way of knowing that your stylist is going to know what I'm talking about. However, pictures....are no contest!

As for it growing out. You may have a little bit of aggravation with it. However, with today's styles being so lenient and the messy look or with all the ends that stick out here and there on some styles, you'll fit right in! LOL

Good luck!!!
