Making the right hair style

Hello.

I'm the kind of guy who hates changes but I grew tiresome of my Beatles type of hair and I want something new. The problem is - I have no idea where to start. I've searched the net for male hair styles and found something I would like to try.

Here's the problem. Where do I start? I've got "Wet Gel" and I tried modeling my hair with it but the result is far from being satisfying. Any help?
