Default hiii....

I am trying to find out what sort of hair style would look good on me...I have been looking about and found out that I have a oval shaped face after all sorts of measurements. Well I was shocked for I always thought I had a square or round shape to it.

At present my hair is pretty short...but it grows pretty fast.. What sort of hair style would you guys suggest for me? I am basically looking for a low maintainance good looking hair cut..which I might periodically cut myself. However I am also welcome to other suggestions as welll...

Thanks.

Hi thinktank1985,

Yes you DO have an oval face with a somewhat high forehead. You should consider a style that covers that up a bit. Other than that, oval face shapes, so long as they don't have a long or wide neck (and you don't), can wear any hairstyle that suits their stature, hair texture and personality.

I'd like to know at least two things before I find any suggestions for you. One, how long would you allow it to be (or your work or school) and what texture is your hair. I would imagine medium to coarse. In other words, when it's wet and short, will it stand up?

Let me know and we'll go from there!

hii toni...

thanks for your reply.. so a few details about my hair...my hair is actually pretty thin...probably it will be better classified as "fine" rather than medium or coarse. I dont have much experience with hair...but I have seen that even with my short hair at present, it flows quite a lot.

I generally keep my hair long..around neck length...and have it symmetrically parted. Although the picture above is a recent one...after I cut it quite short.

Also I have a comparatively broad nose. I got some suggestions that I should have longer hair in the front to compensate for that. Also should I keep side burns?

thanks agains

just to give a perspective of my hair when it was comparatively longer...i have attached another pic

Hey again thinktank1985!

Thanks for giving me some more info. It helps to know that your hair is fine as this does make a difference in the hairstyle you attempt to wear.

You do have an oval shaped face as we discussed before, and therefore you can wear just about anything, preferably covering up your forehead and now you have pointed out your awareness of your nose. For those of us who do not have that cute little feature, the first rule is to keep your hair part as far away from the center of the head as possible. A center part is like an arrow that definitely points to and gives attention to the center of our faces. Any style that flips out or has a widening effect across the face from volume would be great for any perfect oval face, however, you may want to steer from this too because of your nose. I think you'll be fine myself.

The general rule for fine hair is that any style with considerable volume is going to be out of the question without some help. Likewise, spiking it on top is going to be quite difficult, though with help even fine hair can stand up, just so it's not too long.

If you like it short, here are a couple of ideas.

Tom Cruise

David Archletta

Tom actually has fine hair and he likes to keep it short usually and in some type of classic men's style. David has short hair on the sides and yet a trendy, messy look on top. Both have a little hair on the forehead and can certainly be cut so the length here is a little longer if you desire. Tom has a side part and David has no part. You CAN spike your hair a little by getting a texture cut up here and using guy's styling gel to encourage it.

In fact, you should get some gel to experiment with any length you have. Fine hair doesn't have to be limited. Uni*** products like Garnier Fructis can be found anywhere. They offer gels, muds and pastes, all that should be used "sparingly" as too much will dirty up your style defeating the purpose. You can explore these products here.

I will look for more styles if you like, just let me know. You may be surprised at what would look great on you.
