My mom taught me this trick when I was younger. This is not for people with short hair.
Take old pillow sheets and tear them into 6 in strips about 3 inches wide, and put 2 knots in the middle, or more depending on how tight or loose you want your curl. Dampen hair and take strips of hair and twist. Wrap the hair around the homemade curler and roll up and tie the end of the curler together. This should be done overnight, so when you wake up in the morning they should be dry and you will have a beautiful natural curl that will last at least 2 days!! Not to mentioned it is comfortable to sleep in as well! |

Hah you see people in movies from older periods doing their hair this way. My mo used to set my hair as a kid with these old fashioned rollers and they hurt to sleep on. I had pretty hair but a headache.
And they do keep the curl longer for sure. |

I have never heard of this, but it really sounds great. It seems like it would just make your hairl kinky, but I am going to give it a shot. I well let everyone know how it turns out. My hair never holds so I hope this works.

I use to do this to my hair when I was younger. I just don't have the time anymore. It doesn't make your hair kinky at all, in fact I remember getting ringlets. I loved it. Just be careful not tie your hair in the knot, pulling it will make your hair frizzy.

I have never heard of this before either. I never had to do the old fashioned rollers either. I would not be able to sleep. I remember the kit you could but and the rollers would come in it and you would plug it in. They would heat up while you were getting dressed and drying your hair then you would put them in with the little pin. They were so hot I could hardly hold on to them to put them in my hair to look good. I didn't use them very long.
