My straightening iron is dying. It takes much longer to heat up then it used to. I'm looking into getting a new one. I love, or loved, the one I have now, but it seemed to die too quickly...
Any recommendations for one that heats up quickly, works well, and won't die too fast? |

Never use a flatiron on wet hair, no matter what the product advertises. The less time heat spends concentrated on your hair the better. Just dry it well first, the flatiron will do its job quickly enough. I purchased a Conair one with ceramic plates that are about 3" wide It heats up in two minutes. Have had it for about a year now and it is used regularly. Conair makes a good, dependable line of products.

Oops... I've used mine on my hair while it is wet. Why aren't you supposed to? I actually saw one straightening iron that was supposed to help dry your hair... it was actually advertised that way.
The one I have now is actually a Conair. I loved it when I first got it. I think it's heating up more slowly, unless I'm just remember wrong. Either way, it was cheap enough... I'll probably buy another Conair again

I have never used a straightening product on my hair but anything used on wet hair will kill and burn it. Didn't you read little women?
My hair is dead straight anyway. Nature gives and takes away.... |

From what I know from a few girls that straighten their hair, do not buy a cheap one. Spend the extra money it will be well worth it. There are two brands that come to mind when buying a flat iron: Sedu and Solia. I think they are two of the best. Plus they make flat irons to accomodate certain hair types so look for that too.
