Default baby powder

What? Yes... baby powder My hair sometimes does this thing where it gets just the slightest bit greasy looking the day after washing it, but I know that if I wash it, it will be dried out. So, I sprinkle some baby powder on my comb and comb my hair, making sure to get the greasy spot with the powder. The powder soaks up the little bit of grease, and viola!

Interesting! I had never heard of that with baby powder. I had heard of doing that with, I think, corn starch. And there is a dry shampoo product that you comb through like that. I wish I could remember what it's called.

When I was in high school my hair was greasy. I guess it was all of those teenage hormones. Now my hair is dry, but yes baby powder does work. It was something my mom told me to do.

I've never heard of this. Thanks for the tip. My hair gets so greasy it's unbearable. I'm going to try this next time my hair gets greasy. It always seems to get oily after I've showered for the day and thought my hair was OK.

I guess an added bonus of using baby powder would be the fresh smell.

Default Baby Powder

Yes, this is true.

Be careful though. Use it sparingly. Too much will make you look like you rolled in white dirt since the oils will make whatever amount you use stay right where you place it.

I advise pouring out a LITTLE baby powder on the side of the sink and rubbing your fingertips in it. Then "touch" your scalp in different places, eventually rubbing into the oily scalp areas a little. Brush excess into sink and wash down drain.

Gently comb with wide tooth comb and go from there.

I have never heard of this before. The only thing I used baby powder on my hair for was when I dressed up for Halloween and used the baby powder to make my hair look like it was greyLOL I do tend to get some oily spots too. I should try this instead of drying my hair out by washing it so much. Thanks for the tip.

I think the product you are referring to is call "Psssst". My girlfriends mother use to use that on her hair instead of washing it too much.

Can you use the baby powder on long hair or is this just short hair you are referring to? It would probably work better on short hair. JMO

My hair was feeling greasy earlier today, so I tried some baby powder. I poured the baby powder into my brush then ran the brush through my hair. It worked pretty good. Next time I'll try Toni's method as that sounds like a better way to get the powder to the oil.

Since it only helps when your hair is just slightly oily (otherwise you would have to use too much), I would imagine you could use it on long hair, as long as the oily spot is restricted to the scalp area and not extending down the hairs.

Does this Psssst stuff actually work? I would love to find something to stop having to wash my hair so much.

It must be hard to use on black hair? I mean you put the baby powder on and you immediatly age 40 years! LOL. No seriously the powder show up on brunettes?
