Default baby shampoo

From reading, I know there are a lot of moms here. I was wondering what baby shampoos you find to be the best. I have used the huggies in the blue bottle. It has no smell, I really don't like it and it doesn't lather well. The johnson& johnson in the yellow bottle I also use. It lathers better and has a small fragrance, but nothing to die for. Any suggestions, ladies?

I still use the all in one body wash and shampoo combo for my little one. It is a lavendar and camomille scent. I haven't decided what to use when I stop using the combo stuff. Probably go with Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo. It has been around forever. There are so many out there right now I think it would take me an hour to decide if I stood in front of them at the store.

i don't have kids but I ike the cherry flavored shamppo from I think suave. it is in a bright red bottle. I loooove the fragrance and it is the best conditioner! I have really long hair and i can't believe i have passed it up even this long. I used to use it at the health club and even after dry spa my hair had good moisture.

We use Johnson & Johnson detangling shampoo. It smells great. It's red, and I'm sure the scent that it is but it lasts. It's been great for us. My daughter doesn't even fuss when the suds get in her face.

My sister in law uses the Huggies shampoo in the yellow bottle. It is the Shea Butter. The blue one you don't like has no scent so I bet that is why you don't like it. Like the other girl said, Huggies also has a Lavender and Chamomile. I bet that one smells great.

I just use a bar soap on my daughters body. I use a gentle brand like Dove or Ivory. Then on her hair I use the Huggies shampoos. The purple, yellow, and orange bottles smell good. When she gets bigger, do they have a childrens shampoo that is no more tears?

Default Baby Shampoo Warning

Moms,

You are all wonderful to share about the different baby shampoos out there. I am so glad to hear of the variety of products available for our precious ones. We want to take good care of them that's for sure!!!
Just thought I'd let you in on something for you to think about in the near future.

Don't think that baby shampoo is toxic or anything. I don't want to scare you at all. I just wanted to educate you about the pH balance of shampoos.

All shampoos that are great for hair have a pH balance average of 7.0. This means it isn't too acidic or has too much alkaline in the chemistry of it. Any shampoo that is pH balanced within the store brands to the professionals is considered great to use on your hair.

Baby Shampoo is pH balanced for your child's eyes and they are only good for the tear ducts. This means they are high in alkaline. You will notice after using baby shampoos for a while, your child's hair (particularly noticable on girl's longer hair) will start to look lifeless. All this means is as soon as you and your child are ready, switch to a shampoo that is pH balanced for the hair and not the tear ducts. Their hair will start to look better, I'm sure. And now, you know.

That's great information, Toni. I knew baby shampoo was gentler for babies but didn't realize there will be signs to look for when to switch shampoos. I had wondered about that because I remember my Mom used baby shampoo forever on my hair.

I have always used Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo. My sister in law is pregnant and I just bought her a little basket that has the baby shampoo in it, body wash, and some little face cloths. My one sister uses the Huggies brand shampoo for her kids - she likes the smell better of that one.

I love Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo. I have tried the other baby shampoos, but I always go back to Johnson's. I think maybe it is the smell more thatn anything that I like about it. It's a comfort smell to me.
