I just found her picture in the Hairstyles Watch. I want that hair.
![]() What do I need to do to achieve that look? How long does my hair need to be? What texture? May I have her face and makeup while I'm at it?

Well, jetblack,
I can maybe advise on the makeup, definitely help some with the hair. However, her face is stuck on her and I don't know how to get it for you. : D Length is self-explanatory. What you see is what you need if you want it just like hers. I'd say the closer it is to your mid-back, the better for you do need to allow for a little shrinkage due to some curl. This style would look good on medium length as well. And it needs to be all-one-length or very close to it. Vanessa's hair is pretty dense and hair looks more full, of course, the thicker it is. I know this is obvious to most of you yet I had to point it out. Styling product needs to be applied to damp hair. And this is based on the premise that your hair will hold a style for a while. Should curl fall out easily, you will want to experiment with combinations of mousse and gel, or mousse and volumizer, etc. With a wide toothed comb, carefully work out all tangles in towel dried hair. Take vertical sections and clip up each one. Work sections, starting with the front on both sides, towards mid-back. Twist each section; one at a time, running a blow dryer up and down each one. Must from scalp to ends. On each side of face, twists need to turn away from the face. Important! Alternating directions of twists will give a more natural look and for more of that texture you spoke of. Dry thoroughly. Shake style to separate hair, manipulating the look desired. A smoother and also quicker approach would be to do the same procedure to totally dry hair. Section in the same manner and curl vertically with an extra large curling iron. Let cool thoroughly, then finger comb and shake out. The makeup is subtle except for the emphasis on the eyes. Assuming you have her same coloring, skin tone and all. She appears to have a combination of browns and plum eye shadow accented with eye liner and a good dose of mascara. Cool color pink was used on the cheeks as well as the lipstick. These look like a dusty shade of rose. Good luck. Have fun!!!

Thank you. Wow. Think it will take a long time? Probably depends on how long my hair will take to dry.
What mousse, volumizer, etc. do you like? |
