Maria Menounos proves that long hair does not have to be curly to be elegant for an evening out. Here she has her slightly layered hair blown dry in roll around twists so that they may fall in this swept back, sleek fashion.

The design of this formal on Maria Menounos is astounding. It appears to have a wrapped, twisted bun that is nestled underneath the elevated, backbrushed crown.
Maria Menounos begins her hairstyle with a little back brushing in the crown for height and lift while leaving the top front loose to hang in free form. The bulk of her length is done in the trendy long twists giving lots of brunette beauty to cascade over her shoulders.
Brushing the hair back and fastening it in the back is considered an updo and when the back is left to hang freely, this is called a half-do. Maria Menounos is the picture of elegance with the perfect placement of the smoothly brushed top as well as the beautiful, long ringlets that fall down her back.
It is amazing how brushing one's hair to the side, like this asymmetrical hairstyle on Maria Menounos demonstrates, can give the look distinctive elegance through such simplistic methods. The side-gathered ponytail has all been done in one large twist allowing the multi-tones in her hair to look like a caramel, chocolate swirl.
Maria Menounos looks fabulous in this bottom heavy style of curls. Closely imitating a look from the seventies, curls now run vertically rather than horizontally.
The drama of long bangs flipping at this level really brings out the eyes. Maria Menounos', otherwise straight, silky hair, has had added volume by the applied small curls to her ends that were cooled, then 'picked' out.
