It's difficult to determine from the series of pictures during this outing of Nicole Richie, whether her hair is pinned back or if it is truly cut short. More than likely is it pinned since only a few tendrils are falling to the front, yet wouldn't she look fantastic with a bob this length, especially since the stripes of color are so magnificent.

Who says you have to have long hair to wear big, long, loose curls? Nicole Richie has a great short to medium hairstyle. Her bangs are long having been parted from an extreme side part. Hair that frames her face has been curled back off of it, while other curls are a mixture of both forward and backward vertical curls for body and texture.
Trendy stripes of blonde contrasting color alternate in and out of the depths of Nicole's hairstyle. This is great for eye appeal and shine not to mention how good it looks against her skin tone.
